We don't publish a phone number by design. Every inquiry goes through email, gets assigned a ledger ID, and receives a reply inside one business day. That's the promise.
Skip the phone tag. Leave a note — we'll reply by email.

Finding the yard
We're on Thompson Avenue in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania — fifteen minutes from downtown Pittsburgh via I-279 north. The yard sits behind the old B&O rail alignment. Look for the moss-green roll-up door and the pallet of rain harvesters near the entry.
- · From downtown: I-279 N → 65 N → Thompson Ave
- · From airport: PA-60 N → Neville Island bridge → Thompson Ave
- · From PGH North: Ohio River Blvd → Thompson Ave (follow the river)
One inbox —
several desks behind it.
Everything still lands at the same address. But if you put a short code at the top of your email, it gets triaged to the right desk inside an hour instead of sitting in the general queue until the morning pass. No special formatting — just the word in brackets somewhere near the subject line.
[QUOTE]Sales deskFor used-tote purchases, custom fabrication pricing, and product availability. Replies inside 1 business day, usually sooner.
[BUYBACK]Buy-back deskTo sell us totes — include count, prior contents, and ZIP. We'll send a per-unit offer and pickup window.
[FREIGHT]DispatchFor delivery scheduling, route questions, or freight-only quotes. Dispatch replies by 2 PM same day if your email arrives before 11 AM.
[WASH]Wash bayFor reconditioning bookings, certification paperwork, or rebottle orders. Bay lead handles intake herself.
[LEDGER]RecordsFor tank-ID lookups, historical prior-contents queries, or audit paperwork. Usually answered within 48 hours.
[PRESS]Front officeMedia, interviews, partnership inquiries, school tours. We do answer; it just lives in a separate inbox.
No tag? No problem. The morning shift sorts the untagged queue by 9 AM and routes each message by content. It'll get answered — a tag just saves a hop.
Write us once,
get to price fast.
The fewer back-and-forths, the sooner a truck rolls or a quote lands. A few fields in your first email eliminate 90% of the follow-up questions. None are required — they just shave a day.
- Count & size. How many totes, 275 or 330 gallon. Best guess is fine if they're not all counted.
- Prior contents (buy-back) or intended use (purchase). We grade differently based on each.
- Street address + ZIP. Freight zones are ZIP-based. A PO box doesn't help us dispatch.
- Forklift on site? Yes or no. If no, we'll send the liftgate truck.
- Timing window. "Anytime next week" vs. "this Thursday only" changes the quote — not always in the same direction.
- One photo (optional). Especially helpful for damaged-tote buy-backs or custom fabrication sketches.

We miss these targets on maybe one message in forty. When we do, it's usually a complex freight quote that pulls multiple desks. You'll get a holding reply first.
Visiting the
Thompson Avenue yard.
The yard welcomes pickups, scheduled inspections, and the occasional school tour. It's a working industrial site — not a showroom — so the ground rules are mostly about keeping drivers, forklifts, and visitors from sharing a lane at a bad moment. None of it is unusual.
Every visit — yard pickup, inspection, tour — gets scheduled by email. The gate staff know who's arriving and when. Walk-ins get waved to the email address on the sign, apologetically.
Safety glasses and a hi-viz vest waiting at the office door for anyone stepping onto the yard floor. Closed-toe shoes required; we'll turn visitors in sandals back to the parking lot kindly.
Our insurance doesn't allow anyone under 16 past the office counter, even with a parent. There's a reading bench in the front office if you need a place to park a kid for fifteen minutes.
Visitors are welcome to take photos of the tanks they're buying or inspecting. Aerial photography requires prior written OK — a few neighboring tenants have privacy concerns we respect.
After the
office closes.
Saturday drop-off
The yard accepts unstaffed tote drop-offs Saturday 8 AM–noon for accounts with a pre-assigned drop code. Tanks stage on the north apron; staff ledger them Monday morning.
Emergency pickup
If a tote failure is creating an active hazard (leak, spill, blocked dock), email the yard with "[EMERGENCY]" in the subject. Someone checks the inbox every two hours through the weekend.
Holiday schedule
Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve close at noon. We publish a full holiday schedule in December for the following year.
Weather closures
Rare. We close the yard if PennDOT declares a Level 3 travel advisory for Allegheny County, or if the rear access road is impassable. Closures are posted by 6 AM via email to standing accounts.
Lost ledger lookup
Need a tank's prior-contents record from five years ago? Email the ledger desk. Records go back to 2012 for picked-up tanks and to 2016 for sold tanks. Pull takes 24–48 hours.
Auditor visits
DEP or PHMSA inspectors: we expect you. Walk in, ring the counter, we'll open every folder you ask for. No appointment required for regulators.
Prefer to skim the pages first?
If you're not sure which desk to contact, our service pages explain what each team actually does day-to-day. The freight page has route schedules, the reconditioning page has the bay's bookable slots, and the buying page lists the current per-unit rate card.
